British Association for
Counselling & Psychotherapy
I am qualified in the use of a variety of therapeutic models including CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and the Waverley Christian model, using creative interventions to support my work where appropriate.
However I work in an integrative way, which means I will combine different counselling styles in order to best work alongside you and help you discover ways to manage the distress that brought you to counselling.
As your counsellor I will listen, be supportive and non-judgemental and will provide a warm, comfortable and safe environment enabling you to share freely in complete confidence enabling you to explore the difficulties you face, re-discover your strengths and make changes in your life.
For individuals, our first meeting would be without charge and is an assessment, enabling you to share what has brought you to consider counselling and what you would like to achieve through the counselling process. It is also an important opportunity for you to ask questions and to help you to decide whether you feel there is a basis for beginning regular sessions. I will not put any pressure on you and you do not have to decide there and then.
As part of my Continuing Professional Development I receive regular supervision and am a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Visit the BACP website to find out more.
